Combination DVD / Hard Drive Recorders

Burn to DVD what you record on TiVo

The combination Hard Drive/DVD recorder is the best for most people. It combines the best of both worlds in that it allows you to record programs to the hard drive, and then archive your favorite programming to DVD via the DVD recorder. These models can run from $600 to $1800 with the TiVo. Of course, you can also get non-TiVo models that use free on-screen program guides such as TV Guide On Screen or Gemstar Guide Plus. These services bring with them the capability to edit shows prior to archiving them to DVD. As is the case with the hard-drive records, combination recorders also require a phone connection. With one of these DVD/Hard Drive recorders you will be able to record your favorite shows and then save them to DVD with ease.
